Initial Situation

The Society Health & Spa Ltd. offers with its sporting club at the Berliner Kurfürstendamm as well as at the All sports one in Potsdam, fitness studios of the extra class. While the exclusive wellness oasis at the Ku‘damm offers a combination of sport, cycling, indoor golfing, wellness and medical cosmetics over three floors, the All sports one is located in an historical, listed building in the Potsdamer Persiusspeicher. Here also, a unique aura dominates as well as high-quality sports devices, which were to be technically upgraded.

Requirements

The idea was to equip the sports devices in both fitness studios with a sophisticated system. The basis for this was the ultra-modern devices from Technogym, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of fitness equipment. These were to be equipped with IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) in order to offer its customers an optimal service. Next to an easy handling, the displays had to play several different television channels and radio stations and offer the club operator the possibility of inserting individual programs and commercial spots.

Result

In cooperation with Technogym, Macnetix equipped 21 pieces of fitness equipment in the Society Health & Spa at the Kur’damm as well as 19 in the All sports one in Potsdam with PTV-HD. Centre Managers can particularly save costs with the installation, especially since the need for complex cabling becomes obsolete by means of a network structure. In addition, through the IPTV main station, up to 50 radio and TV satellite programs can be played simultaneously on multiple pieces of sports equipment. The operation of the display is controlled through the Technogym user interface Visioweb. The club owner determines in advance, via the web interface, which channels will be provided to the customers while having the opportunity. Adverts from local advertising partners can also be shown.
