Initial Situation

The new Fürstenfelder Hotel was opened in 2008 on the site of a former monastery. The building is situated in a quiet area not far from the centre of Fürstenfeld. It strikes an elegant note thanks to the deployment of high quality construction materials, modern décor in its 70 rooms and an emphasis on state-of-the-art technology, including IPTV (internet protocol television), to provide the standards expected of a four star hotel.

Requirements

There was no question of traditional television in guest rooms at the Fürstenfelder Hotel. The guests were to have the latest technology including multimedia IPTV. This would ensure not only the provision of digital, high quality television in each of the rooms, but also a series of additional services. It was furthermore important to find a system that hotel employees could manage with ease and one that could be expanded with future modules so as to maintain latest technology features.

Result

Macnetix’ innovative IPTV was installed in all 70 of the hotel’s rooms. Besides the primary function of a state of the art digital television, appliances can be used to communicate information to guests. The screen will deliver latest news, as well as individual timetables for delegates of an internal seminar, for instance. As the hotel clientele is principally business guests, internet usage is very high. Again, the Macnetix system provides this facility. The IPTV is also used to sell own brand products from the hotel shop, such as home made jams and natural soaps. Not only information on the vicinity but also the hotel A-Z are available digitally by the TV set. Aditionally there are plans about integrating a guest poll on the menu. Thus this would automatise and expedite the evaluation. Finally also the flexibility and actuality of the IPTV system of Macnetix are very impressive.
