Initial Situation

The Josef Witt GmbH is an internationally operating textile mail order company with headquarters in Upper Palatinate. In Weiden, the company has approximately 1.800 employees, up to 70.000 shipments per day are processed here at peak times. For all persons in the company to be up to date and no longer miss out on anything, the logistics centre in Weiden was to be equipped with a modern, innovative employee information system.

Requirements

A program that is easily and intuitively operable needed to be found, along with the feature of being able to play also external content. It should also have the option of having different content displayed on the monitors at the same time. Further criteria that were to be met: The digital software had to offer a great flexibility as well as versatile display variations. In addition, it should have a control option that would indicate whether all content is displayed correctly on the screens without having to check every display on location.

Result

Macnetix equipped the logistics centre in Weiden with its successful Digital-Signage- Software editIT/playIT. It controls eight 40-inch-screens all over the building. They are located in rooms where people also spend more time: in the entrance area, the break room or in the canteen. The displays not only inform about newest developments in the company but also show news from all over the world. The Josef Witt GmbH uses the Special Content Mix of Macnetix that offers weather forecasts and soccer results. Further content that is displayed via the system: the weekly varying work times and the current canteen menu. In addition, the system allows to show something different on each screen or also to enter time-controlled display plans. Different file formats – from images over Power-Point-presentations all the way to full movies – can also be played. A screenshot allows to check whether all content is displayed correctly on the screens without having to go to each display on location. The system of Macnetix is possibly also intended for the main house of the Josef Witt GmbH.
